Ian Reed Merrifield is a singer/songwriter and performer based in the East Bay area in California. Inspired both by songwriting legends like Dylan and Springsteen and by contemporary folk-rock artists like the Avett Brothers and Jason Isbell, Ian brings thoughtful songs and lots of emotional intensity to every performance. 

Ian's most recent work is the "People's Songs" EP, released in October, 2020. Named after an organization founded in 1945 by Pete Seeger and other folk music luminaries to “create, promote, and distribute songs of labor and the American people, "People's Songs" is an EP of four original protest songs that address some of the key political and social issues of our time. All proceeds from the sale of "People's Songs" between release and Election Day 2020 will be donated to Democratic Senate candidates. 

Ian's first full-length solo record "Secret People" was released on April 10th, 2020.
